THE WAIT IS OVER!
For anyone who's seen the TM Mk23, loved the LAM, wanted a blowback, sought after the KSC Mk23, and then settled for the Y&P Non-blowback, The wait is finally over! KWA has released a fully trademarked Mk23 blowback, with full trades, and needless to say, it's beautiful. I got this gun yesterday, and will be giving you a first impression review, and as I get more use with this gun I'll continue this review.
Day 1:
First of all, the build quality is amazing. Polymer lower frame and metal slide. Plastic barrel (damn good quality) however the threading due to the 1:1 scale barrel sizing is 16mm, so you'd need a special suppressor, not the standard 14mm CCW you use with most pistols and AEG's. If you can't tell by this picture or have no experience with Mk23's...they're huge, and most smaller people from what I've seen do not like the size of it. It has great weight to it, and is very balanced.
As you can see, the trades are beautiful as expected from KWA. This gun does also utilize the NS2 Gas system that is standard in KWA pistols now. The magazine holds 25 rounds, and with the power (mine chrono'd at 390 FPS average with .20g) and range of this pistol, if you can tolerate the weight and size, I would Highly recommend this as a solid side-arm.
It's function is interesting. The slide does lock back when empty (commonly, this isn't so with the USP tacticals or the match from what I understand...) and when you place a loaded magazine into the gun while the slide is locked back, it will reset the slide on it's own, making quick reloading that much easier (or mine could be defective XD) It has a very definite and crisp sound, along with a very nice kick when firing, making this gun that much more epic.
In short, I will be continuing this review with pictures posted of targest at varying ranges to give you an idea how well it handles, possibly a video, and an ongoing update as time goes on to show the durability of this gun. Overall, (and I may be rather Biased) a 10/10 for me
